Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 22, 2026Last Updated: October 22, 2026Version: v1.0

Binding Agreement & Operational Transparency

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of DEBUG//LAB (https://debuglab.online). By completing registration, checking the mandatory agreement box, or accessing our interactive sandboxes, you enter into a binding agreement with the platform operators. Please read them carefully alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Scope of Service & Acceptance

DEBUG//LAB operates from India as an online developer education, interactive debugging, coding challenge, and software assessment platform. The platform provides browser-based cloud workspaces, isolated runtime containers, an embedded code editor, integrated terminal execution, automated test evaluation, and contextual AI-assisted debugging assistance.

The platform is developed, operated, and maintained by its founding engineering team: Utakarsh Singh Thakur, Shreyash Kumar Chaturvedi, Prakhar Dwivedi.

You accept these Terms during account registration by explicitly selecting the mandatory checkbox confirming you have read and agree to both these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not register an account or use our runtime sandboxes and challenge environments.

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect product enhancements, security practices, or changes in applicable Indian law. When changes occur, we update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the platform following notification or publication of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility & Account Security

To register an account on DEBUG//LAB, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may use the platform solely under the supervision and with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

Account Accuracy: You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration (including your valid email address and username) and to keep this information updated.

Credential Confidentiality: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, authentication tokens, and account access. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Unauthorized Access Notification: You must immediately notify DEBUG//LAB at [email protected] if you discover or suspect any unauthorized access, compromised credentials, or security breaches affecting your account.

3. Acceptable Use & Platform Integrity

DEBUG//LAB provides isolated container sandboxes and code execution capabilities exclusively for legitimate coding practice, challenge solving, and software evaluation. You agree not to misuse, exploit, or disrupt the platform.

Strictly prohibited actions include:

  • Container Escapes & Exploitation: Attempting to break out of Docker or container sandboxes, exploiting kernel or host vulnerabilities, running unauthorized root exploits, or interfering with neighboring containers or host systems.
  • Malicious Code & Payloads: Uploading, injecting, transmitting, or compiling malicious scripts, viruses, worms, keyloggers, trojans, ransomware, or cryptomining software.
  • Denial of Service & Network Attacks: Performing port scanning, packet sniffing, brute-force attacks, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), or flooding platform APIs, WebSocket shells, or execution engines.
  • Contest & Proctoring Tampering: Circumventing contest rules, attempting to bypass full-screen integrity checks or focus-loss detection, using multiple accounts in a single contest, or colluding to falsify assessment scores.
  • Resource Exhaustion: Deliberately initiating fork bombs, infinite memory allocations, or unauthorized background jobs intended to monopolize cloud server capacity.
  • Unlawful Conduct & Harassment: Using the platform to transmit unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, infringing, or obscene material under applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000.

4. Coding Challenges, Runtimes & AI Assistance

The coding sandboxes, debugging scenarios, and assessment suites on DEBUG//LAB are provided for educational and skills evaluation purposes.

Runtime Environments & Constraints

Code execution occurs inside sandboxed environments with strict execution limits, memory caps, CPU time limits, and network egress restrictions. Commands or test runs that exceed timeout thresholds or resource limits will be terminated automatically.

Automated Judging & Test Results

Test cases, scoring algorithms, and automated test runners evaluate submissions based on predefined criteria. While we strive for thoroughness, automated evaluations do not represent absolute guarantees of production code quality, security, or commercial fitness.

AI Assistant Suggestions

Where available, the AI Assistant generates hints, code summaries, and debugging explanations using machine learning models. AI outputs are probabilistic and assistive; they may occasionally contain inaccuracies, incomplete recommendations, or suboptimal suggestions. Users are advised to critically review and test all AI-generated code.

5. User Submissions & Intellectual Property

Ownership of User Code: You retain full ownership of the original source code, solutions, and comments you create and submit on DEBUG//LAB. DEBUG//LAB does not claim ownership over your intellectual property merely because you write or execute code within our platform.

Limited License to Operate Service: By submitting code, running tests, or initiating debugging sessions, you grant DEBUG//LAB a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license solely to host, parse, compile, execute, evaluate, and store your code to the extent necessary to provide the platform functionality, display test results, compute scoring, and maintain your personal progress history.

No Commercial Resale or Public Model Training: We do not sell your code submissions to third parties. We do not use private challenge submissions to train external public commercial artificial intelligence models without your separate, explicit, affirmative consent.

Platform Intellectual Property: All software, website design, UI components, challenge problems, test harness frameworks, brand assets, logos, and documentation created by DEBUG//LAB are the exclusive intellectual property of DEBUG//LAB and its maintainers, protected under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and applicable intellectual property treaties.

6. Service Availability & Modifications

We strive to provide reliable and uninterrupted access to our cloud environments. However, DEBUG//LAB is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may temporarily suspend or limit access for system maintenance, infrastructure updates, security patching, or emergency repairs.

We reserve the right to modify, replace, or retire specific coding challenges, sandbox toolchains, or platform features with reasonable advance notice where practical, without liability to you.

7. Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the platform if:

  • You materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, including the Acceptable Use policy.
  • Your account is engaged in activities that compromise the security, availability, or stability of the platform or other users.
  • We are required to do so by applicable Indian law, court order, or regulatory authority.

You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the platform or requesting account closure by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon termination, relevant personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Information Technology Act, 2000:

  • No Warranty: DEBUG//LAB makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the continuous availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular commercial purpose of our cloud sandboxes, AI suggestions, or evaluation scores.
  • Limitation: In no event shall DEBUG//LAB or its maintainers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the platform.
  • Statutory Protections: Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude any statutory consumer rights, mandatory guarantees, or liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law.

9. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is of vital importance to us. Our collection, use, storage, and processing of personal data is governed by our separate Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Acceptance of these Terms is accompanied by your separate affirmative review of the Privacy Policy. We do not treat agreement to these commercial Terms as a waiver of any rights granted to you under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the Information Technology Act, 2000.

10. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution & Contact

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Dispute Resolution: Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to contact the platform maintainers in good faith at [email protected] with a detailed description of the dispute. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter amicably within thirty (30) days of receiving your notice.

Jurisdiction: Any legal action or dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
